At Home Crafts to Get Your Kiddos Through Thanksgiving Break
Okay parents, I know you all love your kids but it can be a struggle trying to find ways to keep them busy during those annual holiday breaks from school. It is easy to stick them in front of the television or tablet, but that only lasts as an entertaining distraction for so long. What do you do when it’s too cold to go to the park and the kids have reached their screen time limit for the day? We’ve done some digging and found some super fun at home crafts you can do with your kids to get them through the upcoming Thanksgiving break at home.
Mini Turkey Pumpkins - With just craft paint and some construction paper, you can transform mini pumpkins into fun Thanksgiving turkeys – perfect for decorating your Thanksgiving table or buffet. I think this would make a craft for the older kids too. Just let the grown-ups help with the hot glue!
Quirky Leaf Friends - With this fun craft, you can breathe new life into those fallen leaves! On your next nature walk or stroll outdoors with your little one, pick out some of your favorite leaves. Collect them in a small bag and bring them indoors. Press them between the pages of a heavy book for several days. Once the leaves have been pressed for a few days, you’re ready for your craft!
The Thanks Giving Tree - With this craft, the Thanks Giving Tree will teach kids to share all that we are thankful for each and every day. This project is so easy to do and perfect for little hands to help decorate. The kids can continue to add more leaves as they think of more things to be thankful for everyday!
Thanksgiving Kids’ Table Setting - I used to hate having to sit at the kids table, but with plenty of kid-friendly activities and decor it can be more tempting than the adult table! Have your kids take matters into their own hands and decorate the kids table this year any way they see fit.
Fall Slime - Okay so almost every kid I know loves to get a little dirty and play with slime! It keeps them busy for such a long time and it is a great calming play activity. You can make this fall slime in under five minutes with just a few supplies!
